went to watch passion of the christ on youtube today. i skipped al lthe way to the flogging, and the crucifiction of Jesus Christ. it made me cry, just like it always has, and once again a reminder, of what i'm living my life for. to be none other than a great testimony of the very man, yet very god, who gave his life for me. with a blink of an eye, he could have killed the two roman soldiers flogging him. with just a thought, he could have killed all those persecuting him. with just a motion, he could h aveput the soldiers in his place, and made them suffer. but he didnt. He prayed 'God, My heart is ready.'
and i know i'm am the soldier. my sins, my imperfections that caused him to be whipped, that cause him to wear the crown of thorns, that caused his bones to be broken, that caused him to be crucified, just for me. just for me.
He said as well, 'Those who persecute you, are instead persecuting me.' but for the man who went all out to save me. for the man who spent 3 days in hell, who went through the worst death and torture a man could ever go through, so that i can spend eternity with Him in heaven, persecution is nothing.
And Praise be to Jesus ! For because of his finished work on the cross, my sins shall never be counted against me, and sin shall never be imputed into me. And King David says 'Blessed is He, whom the Lord shall not impute sin.'
Blessed am I. and Blessed are you, if you remember the cross.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
Amen.
